An in the current issue of CFO Magazine reports on productivity at privately held business:
- Productivity has shot up since the beginning of the recession. Profit per worker, increased by more than 50% between 2009 and 2011. It now stands at what is at least a 10-year high of $15,278, according to recent data from Sageworks, which aggregates private-company financial information.
A Deloitte survey of nearly 700 CFOs and other executives at middle-market companies indicates:
- Fully 70% of respondents indicated some improvement.
- About 50% indicated improvement of 5% or better.
